MKRC Safety Obligation"MKRC have an obligation to make members aware and
keep them up to date with IntroductionMKRC considers water safety to be of great importance to every member of the club and a Safety Adviser is appointed annually, onto the committee, whose duty it is to understand the notes and requirements of the ARA Code of Practice for Water Safety and to advise on their prominent display at all times, their observation and their implementation. Regular Safety Audits are to take place to ensure that all procedures are up to date and being adhered to in order to obtain a certificate of compliance from the ARA. MKRC will continue to ensure that members are fully aware and conversant with all rules and regulations on all aspects of safety within the rowing environment at the Caldecotte Lake facility, these include: Water Safety for All MembersThere are rules and regulations that apply specifically to the use of Caldecote Lake, e.g. navigation paths. All members will be given a safety awareness brief, which includes:
Equipment ChecksRegular maintenance checks are to be carried out on all equipment used. All checks are to be recorded and all maintenance tasks logged to ensure that equipment is safe to use. Before every outing all equipment needs to be checked and logged before boating. Boat TransportationAll members will be taught how to handle and carry boats correctly to avoid injury to them and damage to equipment. There are strict traffic regulations regarding the transportation of boats on trailers and vehicles, all members will be made aware of the correct loading procedures and legal requirements regarding the transportation of all equipment. |
