Rowing on Caldecotte Lake A huge thank you from all at MKRC to all our visitors, for making this year's regatta so successful. We appreciate that we had some tight turn around races this year, some hold ups at boating, and some difficulties on the start which meant that the timings became a bit off track at some points during the day. We would like to thank all the competitors and coaches for their patience and understanding which really helped everyone keep the event moving along.

This was only our second Open event, fully affiliated to British Rowing and drew on the success of the 2016 event, attracting nearly twice as many entries from even more visiting clubs. This needed us to run races every three minutes rather than every five and was a step up in intensity for us. This included a full range of events, from singles to eights, juniors to Masters and again saw the very popular Primary events for newcomers to the sport. Despite this, we were determined to maintain the friendly, relaxed atmosphere that makes our event so popular.

From the feedback we’ve had, we appear to have succeeded, with nice compliments from some of our new visitors as well as our old, established friends. We look forward to seeing you all again at next year's event. We are still finding our feet in running an affiliated event, so any feedback is very welcome to allow us to develop the event for future years.
