24-hour ergo challenge Well, what a weekend it has been!

At 8am on Saturday morning the ergo in Xscape started moving, and with almost every member of our club taking a turn we kept it going for 50 hours and racked up 644,941m - with the brilliant women's squad unofficially smashing the previous furthest distance in 24 hours.

At 10am today the ergo stopped, and just a few minutes later our amazing runners crossed the start line of the MK Half Marathon carrying a boat, as enthralled and bemused spectators looked on. 2 hours 45 minutes later they crossed the finish line together, tired but very happy!

With everyone busy having fun at Xscape and running around Milton Keynes, you'd think we might have had to stop normal rowing, but oh no we have run all our sessions including two more brilliant Learn to Row course ones.

All of this was to help raise funds to help build our new boat shed and refurbish our bay, and thanks to everyone's efforts we are a lot closer! Please do keep sharing the Localgiving link with everyone you can to really put icing on the cake. We have also raised several hundred pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

More than all that though this has been a real team effort. Thank you so much to Becky, Callum, Heidi, Lou, Ian, Helen S, Liz, Jayne, Rob, Richard and Trish for all your efforts, and of course to all our ergers and marathon runners for making this weekend so special, and for proving, in the words of Steve Lawson, that we are the best little big rowing club in the world.
