Blue Green Algae can be toxic to dogs and mildly harmful to people through direct water exposure.

The Parks Trust is changing how it monitors levels of blue green algae in the lake

All non-functioning ultrasound units ( rafts ) will be removed and staff will now use an Algal Bloom Torch regularly between April and October via boat / visual patrols

Any algal bloom detected will be sent for analysis as not all are harmful and the he club will be notified of adverse results

Advice will then be issued by the club to members regarding water contact / rowing on the lake
