Race ReportWe had 6 crews racing today in some beautiful conditions on the Thames. Four of these crews will be racing again at Fours or Vets Fours Head in two weeks time and all of them had excellent rows that should give them a lot of confidence when they go to the Tideway.
Here are the MK results; the full results are available online here.
W.IM1 4+: Heidi, Lou, Jayne, Cath, cox: Chris
A really solid row with a very impressive result. Roll on Fours Head!
IM2 2-: Rod, Steve L
Racing IM2 instead of Masters so their 4- could get a race in the afternoon; the odd crab and blade clash led Rod to describe it as "eventful". It was still a good time though that would have beaten one and possibly two of the masters pairs in the afternoon division.
MasC 4-: Steve L, Clare, Cherry, Rod
Upper Thames may not offer mixed events (their opposition was a male crew), but that wasn't going to stop these guys. For their first race and Cherry's first sweep race I think they should be very happy indeed.
W.IM2. 4+: Jo, Alice, Emma, Charlie, cox: Chris
A good first race for this crew, who have come together incredibly quickly - in fact basically in two training sessions yesterday. Awesome to see some new and returning faces racing together as well.
W.MasD 4+: Heidi, Paula, Karen, Suzanne, cox: Cath
A good row that really bodes well for Vet Fours Head. Heidi why-race-once-when-you-can-race-twice Towse made a guest appearance in place of Helen S.
MasG.2x: Roger, Liz
Liz being an honorary man for the day gave this crew another chance for a race. Their last race was 500m at Cambridge Regatta, so this was definitely a big change, but hopefully a good one.
