MKRC Masters C 2017 crew A great result for the ladies today and a good result for the men - for a while it was literally too good to be true!

A stonking race right from the start, we had hardly overtaken one crew before there was another one to go past. If you don't count the Marlow/Cantab composite or the Swiss crew, who obviously don't count, then we totally won!

If the women's squad can keep up their training over the summer then they will be on for medals once again at the British Masters, Henley Masters, and the World Masters. Now this race out of the way that is definitely what they need to be thinking about next - how to make those medals a reality.

There was some great effort and commitment from the crew today, which was great to see, although even they were a bit astonished when they were initially the fastest crew in the race by over a minute! Regardless they should be very proud of how well they rowed when they had had very little practice in this combination (the unfortunate HORR crew had been out far more). They should also be very proud of their cox Cherry, who was not only coxing her first tideway race but her first race at all, and she did so brilliantly.
