Milton Keynes Rowing Club continue their winning streak to bring home four wins at this year’s Peterborough Head of the Nene.

Despite breathtaking icy conditions, the club demonstrated their strength and power with impressive wins across the 2.5K and 5K course.

Three strong wins for the club over a 2.5m course included Shaun Turner and Charlie Blewitt, winning the Open 2- category in a time of 11.20, overtaking their Lincoln Rowing Club rivals along the course to beat them by 0.5 of a second.

Rod Bennett and Steve Lawson won their Masters 2- with a time of 11.41 for the pair’s first win of the season beating Loughborough.

A convincing win for Jenny Mingaye and Helen Marshall in the Women’s Masters 2x with a time of 11.41.8 impressively achieving the fastest time of all other Women 2x racing that day.

Racing over the 5k course, Milton Keynes Women’s Masters 8+ produced a convincing win above their composite crew rivals Peterborough/Leicester, by over a minute, with a time of 18.58.9, coxed by Chris Wilson, crew; Karen Wilson, Paula Heywood, Jo Heywood, Jayne Skeith, Alice Draper, Lou Rivett, Heidi Towse and Katharine Billingham.
