Women’s E4+ solid victory at Nottingham Regatta
Milton Keynes crews were racing at the club’s first regatta of the season at Nottingham in May.
Two women’s crews raced at the Masters event with the WE4+ maintaining their winning streak to beat Peterborough in a solid strong row by 2 lengths over the 1000m course with a time of 4.17.2. The WE4+ crew’s first win of the regatta season included Karen Wilson, Paula Heywood, Helen Smith and Suzanne De Maine coxed by Jen Pilcher.
The women’s 8C+ faced an 8 second handicap against 5 other crews fought a hard battle to row through 3 crews in dirty water to finish an impressive 3rd - narrowly missing out on 2nd with a time of 4.00.2. The crew included Karen Wilson, Paula Heywood, Jayne Skeith, Alice Draper, Lisa Goodship, Clare Lawson, Katharine Billingham, Jen Pilcher with Helen Smith debuting her coxing at a major event.

In the Open regatta the day before, Charlie Blewitt raced in a composite Northampton/Milton Keynes coxless 4- to come a very close second to Norwich with a time of 6.46.2.
